This is my first posting in the fishing blog in the US in my life. I am a Japanese avid angler. Until last month I was always surfing ChicagoLandFishig-com or Chitown-Anger. However, these sites cover too wide areas with less local ponds info. In addition to that, too much advertisements I was so happy when Jason has introduced this site because this site is not complicated, well organized and managed with only 1 ad. Especially, I always enjoy reading a Busse-Jim’s post because he discloses all the helpful info and technique for us. Last Sunday, I finally met Jim and he recommended me to post the info in this blog, but I told him I am from Japan and my English is not so good to post. Reader may have trouble understanding me.
But yesterday 8/1, I learned a special fishing manner from former BASS and FLW tournament pro, Charles Stuart, at North Pool. I learned a special secret knot for offset hook and spinner bait from Charles. He said he learned this “almost-100%-tie knot” from Jimmy Houston He also taught me how to move frog naturally. He casts the frog on the other side of the bank and moves as if the real mouse is running on the grass then very slowly drop the frog into water. I normally let the frog jumping to the water vigorously. But Charles said bass is listening to the creeping sound of the mouse on the grass from the water, so movement of the mouse on the grass is very important. Then, I introduced him a hot Japanese “Pine Flick” method created by Jackall’s staff—Ken Iyobe (or IYO-KEN). Since this March, I have skunked only 3 times at North Pool because of this “Pine Flick.” Yesterday while I am introducing this secret rig of FlickShake 4.8 Cola color inserted by Gary’s IKA with 4lb Vanish line to Charles, he found a bass’s boil the other side and instantly I casted about 4 feet aside from the boil and I noticed a subtle pull during the fall. So I set the hook. It was 46.5cm (=a little over 18 inch). It is not even close to my record of 21 inch LM; however, I was so happy today. Charles also got a mid-size nice bass by a special Senko from Gary Yamamoto who sponsored Charles. From now on I will fish with Charles at North, South, or Main Busse Lake sometimes. So anybody wants to challenge the B.A.S.S. invitational or FLW, you can ask him on the spot. He said he is willing to give any info.
(Finally, my sincere apologies for my Japanese-English sentences which may be hard to understand for the native people) B-Snapper
