The Cook County Forest department needs to know that they are doing a crummy job for not letting people in row boats, kayaks, canoe's and float tubes into Axehead. To top it off we pay hundreds of thousands of tax dollars for a lake that we can only use one half of the time that it is able to be used. I know most of you may sit here with your non challenging state of minds and think "oh yes mighty government, everything you are telling me to do is ethically and socially correct", but the fact that this lake and forest preserve is closed off at night is first off ridiculous. Second off, who ever decides to get out and fish the damn lake with out a life preserver from a row boat/ float tube/ kayak/ canoe kind of deserves to drown, yes its sad and mean but why wouldn't you put one on? That could be the only objection I could see as to why they would not want to let us out on this lake, as someone may drown and they might be sued or get bad publicity. Axehead is a great body of water, with giant fish in the bottom that no one can ever seem to get to with out powerlining in.
