Kayaking is more popular than ever! Here's your place to discuss all things kayak - rigging, equipment, outings, etc.

Hell yeah! I think I may need to make some "Coronas and Kayaks" T-shirts for this.

Yeah......Cinco de Kayako. Got a new 2012 Ride 135 ordered that's supposed to be in by the end of next week. Even if it's late, I should certainly be able to make May 5th no problemo.

I grew up just a couple blocks from little Mexico so I'm always down for Cinco de kayako.

We need a couple full size grills I won't have the room to bring mine

2 quick questions.

What do you call a deep pond? The map says the depth varies up to 25'. That is deep enough to me.

So can we put our floating palaces in the pond or not?

Our kayak/fishing/bbq will be on May 5th at Whalon Lake. All who would like to attend are welcome to do so. Those who wish not to attend are free to not attend.

There's a good meat market up by my place in Wisconsin that has some killer brats...i'll bring some of those.

As far as a grill goes, mine is too big to bring as well.

I plan to bring:
Grandma Hoffman's Pickled Shrimp
ABTs
Being that it is Chinco De Kayako I may bring some arrachera. I usually make pico de gallo and Gaucamole to accompany the steak but this outing it will be served as meaty finger food.

The arracherra will depend on if I have time to get out to Mid-town. The super Mercado out there has quality butchers that trim, butterfly and tenderize this cut properly. Oh and if there is more then one grill.

They have two grills (~24"x18") by the shelter. We just need a wire bush to clean them up but they're in good shape or perhaps some tin foil over the grates. Problem is if it starts raining we're screwed unless we do something cheesy and cover the top of the grill with some sheet metal to keep the coals dry. I imagine we'll have to have some "changing of the guards" at the grill stations so nobody bogarts them from us if we're all on the water fishing at the same time
