I should have thought ahead and brought some gloves. I've been down in Dixie for ten days and I forgot how Midwest Spring goes.
I talked two dinks out of their hiding holes down in St. Chuck yesterday evening. Both came right off the break as soon as the Rapala stopped swimming hard. Short trip, maybe 45 minutes, I fished the backside of a few choice boulders. Classic "swing it out and let the current do the work" fishing. Surprised at the flow. Last time I fished the current was ripping. Seemed to me the fish have been able to scatter a bit and get some leg room. That's good news for a few of my favorite spots.
