Cedar Lake

There are seemingly endless amounts of rivers, creeks and their tributaries throughout northeast Illinois.

Cedar Lake

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Cedar lake. I can see there is a launch off of 132 but not sure about price or if its a private type lake . Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Paul.

Caught my first ever largemouth bass at Cedar Lake about 25 years ago. Have no idea about public access or rentals now. Would love to know this too.

Cedar lake in Indiana? One of my best friends has a lake house there. They dredged it lat year I believe and fishing has been dead from his accounts. Granted, he isn't much of a fisherman, but he hears the gossip from others in the area.

The Cedar Lake he's referring to is in Lake Villa, IL, just west of Deep Lake.

Hmm Cranked where can you access for Ice fishing without getting ticketted? I know at the park they check for stickers.

Its a great lake to fish but its private like Deep Lake, you need the key for launch access. Great fishing though including some good musky fishing.

Ceeeeeeedaaaaa.
Live "on the lake" my whole life. Actually a block away...
Great, beautiful clean lake. Lot's and lots' of baitfish! Bluegills and crappies have
always been cyclic. Some good years some bad. I've seen crappie 15" and gills 9" come
out of there, but they're always few and far between. Caught some toad bass over the years,
heard of fish up to 9lbs waay back when. The majority of the bass population is stunted real bad
with average fish around say 10". Loads of 8"-12"ers. Only ever saw a couple muskie? Small, like 14"ers
caught threw the ice. Only seen a handful of pike, couple bigguns though. My dad has pics from when
he was a kid of big ol muskies and pike. Supposedly were some lake sturgeon in there at one time too..
Beautiful lake, private, launch at Lehmann Park and two on the north end. It's not anything more
great than any other lake around. They all have their perks, some more than others.
There's some cool structure out there, neat weedbeds, and one badass ice fishing spot. If you look
at a map of it, you'll see a hole to the west of the island. It's a huge flat about 4-6' and all of a sudden
a hole in the middle of it that you can just about cast across going down to about 19'!
Hope that helps! Great little lake, not really on my list of need to target lakes.

Thanks for all the replies guys. My search goes on for a local lake to fish, that I can use my own boat on and catch fish. Maybe Long lake is my next choice ?

The launch on Long is/was off Wilson rd. off the channel. It's always
been a pretty good bass lake. Loon lakes are also worth hitting, west is beautiful and crystal
clear, east is polar opposite! There's a laundry list of lakes worth fishing just over
the WI border. A lot of little mentioned lakes are great fishing lakes!
