A Few Pike and a Few Rods I've Made

From the south suburbs to the northwest suburbs, the Des Plaines River provides some excellent fishing opportunities.

A Few Pike and a Few Rods I've Made

Postby Rich » Jun Wed 06, 2012 10:06 am

Thought I'd post a few pics of some of the pike I've pulled out of the river this spring. A few dinks included because I liked how the pics turned out.
And a few rods I've made or re-done and use on the river for the pike. I try to FF the river when I can , but light spinning stuff is the ticket for me more than not. I still try to FF it whenever I can and it's at all possible to cast.

Great rods!!
Ive been meaning to try and FF the DPR but your right, casting room and my lack of skill in tight places is a dangerous thing. I know about two places I can go and will try to hit this week.

Nice Pike!!

Thanks guys.
And now a humling moment brought to you by DPR...just got back prematurely due to a dunking. Nothing like the feeling of river water all over you as you drive home. :x
