Killing some time

Postby jim bohman » Aug Sat 18, 2012 9:38 am

My wife went to play some bingo with my mother,so I figured this is a good chance to get out to donut lake.Took my sons with me and fished off the pier by the playground .Caught 2 small bass and 2 gills .Saw a few larger bass and a small tiger muskie under the pier, but could not entice them to bite.My sons wanted to try to net the muskie just to get a better look at it, but I told them rather than going after it the wrong way,we will come back tomorrow and see if we can get her to take something we cast her way.I have yet to post any pics due to my own lack of knowledge of technology but I will see what happens when we get home.Might have to call for reinforcements to post some pics.

In case you're interested (this is a post I did a couple of weeks ago to someone who asked about uploading pictures):

The easiest way I found to upload photos; use a photobucket account. I created one specifically for WCF. After uploading the image to Photobucket, highlight the photo with your mouse and you'll see it says share. Click "share". Press the tab "Get link code". The second from the bottom link says "IMG for bulletin boards & forums". Click and highlight that link and copy/paste it to your post on WCF.
Hope it helps.

Yes they still charge.

It's cool that Jim saw a small Tiger Muskie (assuming that is what it really was). My understanding was that they no longer stock Tiger Muskie and that there are only 4 or so left in the lake but that they are of good size.

Smaller ones might mean that the picture is more optimistic.

they should stock some bass since they charge you to fish there.

I know they do stock other fish, especially fairly large size for stocker catfish which is why you see lots of people fishing for and keeping catfish there. Personally, I wouldn't keep anything from there since the water is fed by salt creek and run off from the golf coarse and highway.

Could have been a pike,I did not get that good of a look, but it was either a pike or a ski 24" to 28"I shouldn't have said small, but have seen larger ski's in the past there.
