It's April and that means smelt season in Chicago! A valid 2006 Illinois fishing license is required. The Chicago Park District is letting smelt fishermen stay all night long. Just make sure you obey the rules... no open fires, no booze, etc.

smallmouth bass, largemouth bass,
smelt, carp, and many more species.

most popular spots for shore fishing Lake Michigan in the Chicago
area are: Waukeegan harbor, Montrose Harbor, Belmont Harbor, Diversy
Street, Navy Pier, Burnham Harbor, and 95th Street.Of course, there
are MANY other spots as well, but these locations are very popular
with the regular Lake Michigan shore angler.
